The staff at Tifton Woman’s Center is committed to giving the best possible care to women during the time of their pregnancy. The caring disposition will be carried throughout the term of pregnancy to the delivery room and through the recuperative period. The physicians at Tifton Woman’s Center manage high risk pregnancies and offer a variety of blood tests to check for fetal abnormalities such as Down’s Syndrome and Spina Bifida. We also work with couples facing fertility issues to find the best possible course of action.

Obstetrical Visits

We schedule your obstetrical visits on a monthly, bi-weekly, or weekly basis depending on the month of your pregnancy. We have three physicians and three nurse practitioners that will provide you with exceptional care throughout your pregnancy.

Ultrasounds

Ultrasounds are performed in our office to monitor the health of you and your baby. Ultrasounds are ordered by our physicians and nurse practitioners for a variety of reasons. An ultrasound is ordered on the first visit to confirm pregnancy and establish a due date. Another ultrasound is ordered at about 20 weeks. The 20 week ultrasound is performed to evaluate fetal anatomy, such as the heart, the brain, and the spine. The placental location, amount of amniotic fluid, and fetal activity can also be reviewed by an ultrasound. Some birth defects can also be seen, but not all.
